Phil and Alice Allen of Tar Heel were injured in a head on collision south of Whiteville on Friday morning.
The driver of the other car reportedly crossed the center line near Beaverdam Swamp on U.S. 701.
The Allen’s were reported to have suffered broken bones and lacerations and were hospitalized. Alice Allen was transferred to Grand Strand hospital in Myrtle Beach, SC. Phil was reportedly admitted to the Columbus County hospital. Their injuries are not believed to be life threatening.
