Spread the love

By Victoria Baucom

I’m not sure what Tuesday is delegated to, (maybe Throwback?) but today I’m calling it “Thankful Tuesday.” You might say I’m crazy for saying it and thinking that I have no idea what’s going on. But I assure you that I’m well aware.

I’m thankful today because my family is alive – my friends are alive. It is devastating that some of them have lost or will be losing their homes. I cannot fathom the pain or anxiety they feel. But they are alive. They will not be immortalized by this hurricane in a death toll.

I’m thankful today for the first responders and linemen who have fought tirelessly to help, and the families thereof who fight the struggle of seeing their loved ones heading out wondering if they will come home. I’m thankful for the people who are helping rescue those stranded, and those who work to protect us and keep us up to date. I acknowledge your hard work and dedication, and I thank you from the bottom of my heart.

For those of you suffering during this storm, in whatever capacity, please do not feel alone. I do not know what I could possibly do to help carry your burden. Maybe you want to talk, or just need a prayer – I have time.

“But as for me, I trust in You, O Lord; I say “You are my God.” My times are in Your hand.” Psalm 31:14-15
