Thoughts While Shaving
Spread the love

Hope your Christmas was one of the best ever. For many, Christmas continues throughout the weekend.
Can’t think of a better way to spend the holiday than with family…children, grandchildren and, siblings and their families, all on Christmas day. I am among men most richly blessed.

Did you see the moon? Beautiful full moon for Christmas, the first time in 38 years and will be another 30 or so before it happens again. My dream, to see it next time and to be enjoying good health. Dream BIG.

Oh yes, our high temperature on Christmas Day was a summer-like 80 degrees. Was nice but un-Christmas like.

We are fortunate that the bad storms did not reach our area.

Many have been on the roadways and others will be. Be safe as you travel.

A couple of reminders:

Property taxes due in September, but no penalty until January 5 the following year. That date is fast approaching…I hear folks complain about county taxes due this time of the year. You received the bill in July or August, they were due September 1st and no penalty until January 5th. January 6th a 2% penalty is added. The penalty and dates are determined by state law.

Deer hunting season comes to a close on January 1 in our area.

One more reminder, The NC Wildlife Resources Commission will hold their first of nine public hearings across the state related to proposed changes to regulations for the 2016-17 seasons, at Bladen Community College on Tuesday, January 5th beginning at 7 p.m. The public is invited.

Politicians and diapers have one thing in common. They should be changed regularly, and for the same reason.

A fine is a tax for doing wrong. A tax is a fine for doing well.

America is a country which produces citizens who will cross the ocean to fight for democracy but won’t cross the street to vote.
