The Easter season is here.  Time for family and friends, Easter egg hunts and worship, not necessarily in that order.
A 5K Fun Run to benefit the American Cancer Society will be held in Bladenboro today, an Easter egg hunt is planned at Jones Lake State Park, the annual Old Fashion Planter’s Day festivities continue in Ammon.  There are numerous other events scheduled around the area today.
A salute to Todd Pait, the new West Bladen football coach.  Happy to see NCHSAA finally decided to keep the two Bladen County High Schools in a conference with Columbus and Robeson county schools.
With all the “crap” related to the race for president and other political events, to many controlled by lifetime politicians, maybe it is time for term limits at all levels of government.
The ‘silent majority’ will play a big role in who the next president will be.  A few make much noise, the silent majority makes decisions.
Site preparation for the new Bladen County Detention Center is underway across from the Ag Center on Smith Circle Drive in Elizabethtown.
To many of our young folk dying of natural causes at an early age.  Sympathies extended to the families.
UNC plays Notre Dame in NCAA’s March Madness on Sunday.  Others still vying for the championship include Oregon, Oklahoma, Kansas, Villanova, Virginia and Syracuse….8 teams still in the running for the final four to be determined today andtomorrow.
Think you can trust a driverless vehicle….coming soon, maybe as early as 2020?
In 1971, we had a 2 inch snowfall in Bladen County on March 26, as I recall on aSunday afternoon during a Rescue Squad Telethon on WBLA radio station.  That was 45 years ago.  Hard to believe I remember that and can’t remember what happened yesterday.
