Thoughts While Shaving
Spread the love

Thoughts While Shaving2016 is winding down, hours left before we ‘ring in’ 2017.

I am looking forward to the ‘swearing in’ of the new President-elect.  This transition is confusing.  We can only have one President at the time.

A change in the weather is here, from a beautiful sunny day yesterday to windy and cloudy today.

So sad about actress Debbie Reynolds, her death coming just days after the death of her daughter.

A couple of reminders, again.  Time to pay property taxes, been due since September 1, penalty will be added after January 5.  And, a reminder you need to list your property for 2017 taxes.

There will be Total Solar Eclipse over the US on August 21, 2017.  Will follow a path from southwestern North Carolina across the state of South Carolina near Columbia, Sumter, Charleston and visible in our area around 2:45 – 2:55 AM on a Monday morning.  Mark your 2017 calendar.

Don’t have to travel far to be reminded of Hurricane Mathew.  Numerous roadways in the area where detours are still in effect.  Tile, or lack of tile, is the reason for the delay in most instances, I am told.  Would be a good time to be in the tile business.

Looking back at 2016, was there a bigger story than Hurricane Mathew? Think that is most likely #1.

Fayetteville’s Dennis Smith is off to a great start for the NC State Wolfpack basketball team.  And, former UNCW basketball coach Brad Brownell saw his Clemson Tigers jump out to a 44-31 lead over is previous team after the first half and eventually win 87-73 last night.

What are your plans for New Years Eve?  It will be, most likely, very quiet at this Hester household.

Many New Year’s resolutions are something that goes in one year and out the other.

If 2016 was a person, I’d sue him for pain and suffering and lost wages.

I will read the manual……just as soon as I can find it.
