Thoughts While Shaving50 degrees at 7 AM on February 25 and temps expected to be in the low to mid 80s this PM.  Temps should dip to near 40 degrees tonight.

 

Tired of politics?  Easy to understand.  Saw an interview with Gov. Kasich, former presidential candidate yesterday.  He was in DC, meeting with President Trump.  Interviewed after his visit, his comment was, I can disagree and it not be personal.  My kinda of politics.

Remember when the Bright Leaf, New Clarkton, maybe other, tobacco warehouses were the center of activity?  Clarkton and other area towns were a part of the Border Belt tobacco markets. 

 

Congratulations to Robby Priest, East Bladen head football coach.  He has been named an assistant coach for the 81st annual Shrine Bowl of the Carolinas.  The head coach for the NC team will be David Gentry of Murphy.  Much deserved, Priest has accomplished much in his time as the Eagles head coach.

 

The ACC Basketball Tournament is just around the corner.  It will be held March 7 thru 11 at Barclay’s Center, Brooklyn, NY.

 

Daytona 500 tomorrow (Sunday).

 

Regan Smith finished 6th in last nights pick-up race in Daytona Beach.  He was piloting #92 in the Camping World series, owned by Benton’s of Whiteville and Cerro Gordo.  Michael Hester of Bladenboro is the man in charge of the team.
