After a few days away, came home in the middle of a tornado warning. The assessment of damage countywide continues. After seeing the damage of others, and despite our own, we apparently escaped with what could have been a far-worse situation.
Wind is in today’s weather forecast and with grounds saturated by the rainfall, more trees could fall.
Some damage could take days to assess. At least no fatalities or serious injuries in Bladen that we are aware of.
I attended a Telco meeting recently and many of the seminars are about new technology, could not help but think how it was when life was simple and all we had and thought we would ever need was a plain old telephone.
Now, telephone companies deliver Internet, TV, and much more and more changes are on the way. We live in some of the most interesting times ever.
Kinda reminds me when local doctors had their own office, they made house calls and were your doctor when you were in the hospital. Today, the entire medical system is owned by HealthCare Centers. It is difficult to access some systems, most local doctors are an employee of a healthcare system. They do no hospital practice and the days of a house-call ended many years ago.
Our world and our daily lives are more complicated.
Can you image a President Trump or President ‘Madam’ Clinton? Looks like those are the options….Can we start the process over again?
