Thoughts While ShavingThis ‘n that.

A follow up on the tornadoes that roared through North Carolina Wednesday.  Three were confirmed as touching down and causing damage.  One in Granville County, one in Durham and another in Wayne.  Despite numerous warnings, Bladen dodged them all.

Four deaths have been confirmed in the state caused by ‘flu’.

Expect a huge announcement coming out of Robeson County today.  The U.S. Marshalls Service, Eastern District of North Carolina is conducting a press conference at 11:30 a.m. this morning in Lumberton.  The initiative is called “Operation Zero Hour.”  Multiple arrest are expected of high risk violent offender, gang members and murder suspects.  Numerous Federal, State and Local law enforcement agencies have been involved in the investigation.

Had some inquires about when the construction of the NC 87 bypass & US 701 will be completed.  When the announcement was made over a year ago, the completion date was the fall of 2017.  Barnhill Contracting Company of Rocky Mount was awarded the contract totaling $13.2 million.  The weather could cause an adjustment of the completion date.

Congratulations to the Lady Eagles.  East Bladen girls scored another victory last night, defeating Southwest Edgecombe 71-43.  The Eagles are now 29-0 for the season.  Next game is Saturday.  Reidsville travels to East Bladen for a third round game.  If you haven’t seen this team play, you should.  A great group of young ladies.   John Clark has it all covered on our sports page.

Did you see the Republican debate last night.  Ugly……and it just seems to go on and on and on.

And another shooting…this time in Hesston, Kansas.  Early reports indicated 4 dead, including the shooter.

Alcohol is not the answer, it just makes you forget the question.

Don’t let yesterday use up too much of today.
