WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, U.S. Senator Thom Tillis (R-NC), chairman of the Senate Armed Services Committee’s Subcommittee on Personnel, held a hearing on the management structure of governing civilian employees within the Department of Defense and discussed alternate strategies for effectively hiring, managing, supporting, promoting, and holding DoD civilian personnel accountable.

“The management structure of governing civilian employees is outdated, restricted, and cumbersome,” said Senator Tillis. “I urge my colleagues to join me to give the Department of Defense and service branches relief to make the governing system more flexible and manageable for the U.S Military and provide more support for the civilian employees that serve our country.”
