WASHINGTON, D.C. – Senator Thom Tillis (R-NC), a member of the Senate Veterans’ Affairs Committee, today voted to confirm Dr. David Shulkin as Secretary of the Department of Veterans Affairs. Tillis and Shulkin have worked closely together on the MyVA initiative to streamline the VA bureaucracy and improve health care for veterans.
“I was proud to support Dr. Shulkin in his confirmation as the VA Secretary,” said Senator Tillis. “His experience in the private sector running complex healthcare systems combined with his experience in the VA make him the right leader to go about solving the problems in the VA: reduce wait times, improve standards of care, and improve access across the country.
